SMSF Commercial Property Loans

SMSF commercial property lending, structured properly.

Your super fund can still borrow to buy commercial property, including your own business premises. The structure has to be right from day one.

Lending

Commercial property inside your super.

Since 10 August 2026, self managed super funds can no longer take on new borrowing to buy residential property. Borrowing to buy commercial property is still permitted, through a limited recourse borrowing arrangement, and a smaller group of specialist lenders continue to offer it.

For many business owners, that means the fund can buy the premises the business operates from, with the business paying market rent to the fund. We work alongside your accountant and financial adviser so the loan supports the fund's investment strategy and meets the relevant requirements.
